Europe contains populations with the world's highest incidence of childhood diabetes, and a rough estimate suggests that one European child develops diabetes with every hour. Our journal covers every aspect of diabetes save one - what it is like to have it.
Pictures count more than words, and in 2006 we were proud to carry a series of children's drawings about diabetes on our cover.

2005 Volume 48
Diabetologia was relaunched in 2005, and we wanted to pay tribute to some of the key figures in the history of diabetes. Many appeared on the cover of the journal and others on the website.
