Cover picture by Rochelle, drawn when she was 14 years old. Rochelle had been diagnosed 2 years previously, when she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with severe ketoacidosis. She was very reluctant to talk about how she was coping, and seemed to be ‘bottling up’ her emotions. Her doctor suggested that she might like to express her feelings in pictures, and to this she readily agreed. She never was able to verbalise her feelings as effectively as she did in this drawing, but this was used constructively to explore her worries.
